Abstract
Transsexuals, as a client group, are increasingly coming to the attention of mental health professionals. This paper offers a general discussion of gender dysphoria and sex-reassignment, including an examination of their psychosocial aspects.
The role of psychotherapy in relation to this client group is explored, and reactions of the therapist to the transsexual are considered.
